Specialist in internal medicine and medical oncology I work as the head of the Department of Medical Oncology at the Saint Barbara Hospital in Tatabánya, Hungary.
As an internist I am particularly interested in systemic diseases like infections, malignancies, immune disorders and also psychosomatic symptoms. As an oncologist I treat cancers of almost all organs. I care for the patients along the entire evolution of their disease from the diagnosis on, passing by the medical treatment, the organisation of different interventions and if necessary the management of any complication up to their complete recovery or the end of their life. I participated in the emergency care during 25 years and assisted in the creation of several institutional tumour boards. The management of cancer pain and the comfort therapy are among my fields of expertise.
Although I only spent a few years in university departments (namely in France) I keep on teaching and doing some research in parallel with my clinical activity. Currently I take part in the formation of nurses at the Széchenyi István University. Besides being involved in international clinical trials I conduct observational studies on my own initiative.
I supported the introduction of short acting oral opioids to the Hungarian market. I published a book in order to facilitate the readers’ decision of consulting a doctor upon the detection of diverse symptoms. I have been treating patients of six continents in seven languages.
